  • Japanese Exchange and Teaching (JET) Programme
    Position: Assistant Language Teacher (ALT)
    Dates: July 2006 - Present

    Duties Include: Coordinating, developing and preparing English lesson plans with a team of 5 JTE's (Japanese Teacher of English). Team-teach classes of 30+ junior high level students 4 days a week, classes of 30+ elementary and kindergarten students once a week. Also responsible for fulfilling duties outside the classroom in a variety of events coordinated by the city Board of Education, including but not limited to: "ALT Days," Speech Contests, Seminars/Workshops for other ALTs and JTEs.

    Dates: December 1998 - Present

    Duties Include: Oversee production of original digiial video projectes from concept to post-production as producer/director and editor of the final piece. Create original graphic and product designs for projects from DVD UI (User Interface) to product packaging design and copy. Conceptualize, Design and create websites for individuals, small and medium sized business on a contractual basis. Backend site development from php coding to mySQL database design, implementation and integration. Use basic AJAX technologies (Asynchonous Javascript and XML) when appropriate, but primarily focus on server-side database-driven sites utilizing XML, CSS and RSS feeds to integrate dynamic content. Develop and produce multimedia presentations for clients (copy, keynotes, CD's, DVDs, Videos), upon request.

    Position: Front End Web Developer / Multimedia Graphics Producer
    Dates: April 2006 - July 2006

    Duties include: Part of a team in charge of the XHTML/JavaScript/Graphics side of the Sony ImageStation website. Also was primarily responsible for creating a weekly HTML marketing e-mail delivered to approximately 2 million opt-in subscribers weekly. Re-mastered/edited previous ImageStation commercials for optimization and distribution over the Internet.

    Achievment of Note: Created a php-driven tool from scratch that would create the marketing e-mail based upon form input, drastically reducing the time to create these e-mails, which has up until the tools creations been created by hand each week.

    Reasons for leaving so quickly: I had informed Sony at my time of hiring that there was a significant chance that I would be selected to go to Japan in July, and was hired with that understanding, to be re-evaluated at the time the decision from the JET programme was delivered.

    Position: Information Technology Consultant
    Dates: January 2004 - April 2006

    Duties include: Working with Faculty and Staff members identify, troubleshoot and repair computer hardware and software problems on both Mac and PC platforms. Primary Macintosh technician, assist in building of computer hard drive images and their deployment for distribution for aprrox. 100 Faculty and Staff Mac users on campus. Primary support technician for Apple "Pro Apps" (Final Cut Pro 3-5, DVD Studio Pro 1.5-4, Motion 1-2, Soundtrack Pro). Assist other ITC's and trainers to identify and help develop Mac training materials.

    Position: Apple Campus Representative
    Dates: September 2004 - December 2005

    Duties include: Student Representative for Apple computer on the California State University San Marcos Campus. Serve as liason for promoting Apple's image and culture throughout the campus. Serve as technical resource and knowledge base for Apple users throughout the campus on both the software and hardware level. Required to be familiar with and able to demonstrate a variety of Apple Computers and software programs.

    Duties include: Responsible for maintaining Office network of 30+ computers, including testing machines for temporary staffing applications. Advised and recommended purchasing solutions for new equipment. Provided tier 1 and 2 technical support when necessary.

    Position: Junior Varsity Wrestling Coach
    Dates: April 1995 - June 2003

    Duties include:Seasonal position coaching and mentoring wrestling team of 60-100 6th-8th graders. Teach wrestling fundamentals, fair play and work with parents and faculty to ensure wrestlers met grade eligibility. Responsible for Coordinating the Poway Unified School District Intramural District Championship Wrestling tournament during the 2000, 2001 and 2002 seasons.

    Duties include: Train, guide and evaluate new employees on restaurant standards. Register, Server, Opening and Closing the restaurant. Responsible for proctoring tests and building supplemental materal to aid in new employee evaluation. Also worked as team lead upon request for the Front of the House team.

    Position: Custom Framing Specialist
    Dates: November 1998 - December 1999

    Duties include: Helped customers in choosing frame designs, styles and compositions for both original and reproduced artwork and items. Assembles custom frames, sized and cut mats and glass using specialized framing tools. Proofed final work for customer.

  • Natural Wonders, Inc.
    Position: Sales Associate
    Dates: October 1997 - August 1998

    Duties include: Assist customer with product questions and help make purchasing decisions. Worked with register to process customer transactions. Required to learn and demonstrate products within the store to customers on the sales floor. Certified MEAD telescope associate for the store, able to setup and demonstrate telescopes and provide customers with relevent data.
